CUG in Railways stands for Closed User Group. It is a supplementary service that is being provided by Jio to Railway officials and employees to make and receive calls to any member associated with Indian Railways. Apart from this, employees will get free SMS too.

Jio Railway CUG Plan Details

RailTel, while finalizing the new CUG scheme, gave the contract for the implementation of the scheme to Reliance Jio Infocomm. From January 1, 2019, the new CUG has come into effect. So, Jio has been providing the services to RailTel with honor.

Previously, Airtel used to provide the service to Indian Railways, but after that Jio got the contract in January 2019. Jio has been providing its services to Railway employees and officials without number portability and SIM card cost.

Railway CUG Plan

Reliance Jio has been providing 4 types of plans to railway officials and employees. In this plan, senior railway officials, which are just 2%, will get 60 GB data. On the other hand, Joint Secretary level officers (26%) will get 45 GB data while Group-C staff (72%) will get 30 GB data. Apart from this, a 49 rupees SMS plan will also be available to the railway officials and employees.

Jio will provide high-speed internet data and unlimited voice calling as well as SMS facility to all the Railway employees. According to Jio’s plan, railway employees will also be able to get 2 GB extra data for just Rs 10 after the daily data is exhausted.
