The application is in the pre-production stage at the moment. The application includes the data of the health officials who will be given the vaccination in the first phase. Over 75,00,00 health officials have already registered themselves on the application.

Cowin registration

As of now the common people of our country cannot register for the upcoming vaccine phase first. Once the application is up and provided for all the population of our country, the general population can register themselves using the COWIN application. The application will have four modules – the beneficiary registration, user administrator module, vaccination and beneficiary acknowledgement and status updation.

Once the co win app for vaccine and website go live on Google play store and Apple App Store, it will provide three options for registration to the general public.

  1. Self-registration
  2. Individual registration
  3. Bulk upload

However, the logistics have not been revealed yet and the government will be organising camps where the people can register themselves for the vaccines. The surveyors and the district administrator will be registering multiple beneficiaries too.

Cost for Registration

The cost of the registration for the general public has not been announced yet. However, Dr Harshvardhan has announced that the corona vaccination will be free for frontline workers.

Documents needed for COVID-19 vaccine registration

  • Photo identity proof will be needed in order to register for the vaccination. Provide any of the following photo identity proof:
  • Aadhaar card
  • Health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of Ministry of labour
  • Driving license
  • MNREGA Job card
  • Pan card
  • Identity card officially issued to MP/MLA/MLC
  • Passport

  • Service identity card issued by central/state government/PSU/public limited companies to the employees

The photo identity proof can be uploaded on the Co-WIN System (in PDF, PNG or JPEG file format) or directly upload it from the DigiLocker account.
The registration process the date and time will be allotted for the vaccination. The session sites, vaccinator, supervises and the beneficiary will decide the date and time for the vaccination session with the support of district immunisation officer under district collector/district magistrate.

How to register for vaccination at session site

Apart from this, the vaccination at the session site can also be done. The common service centres will utilise the self-registration method. The self-registration module will be available in the later phases of the implementation. You can select the method of authentication from the various methods provided below:

  • Biometric: all the demographic details will be included including the name of the person to their permanent address according to the Aadhaar card.
  • OTP authentication: an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile phone number with the Aadhaar card. After the authentication of OTP all the necessary details of the beneficiary will be auto-filled with the help of the Aadhaar card.
  • Demographic authentication: a person can also manually fill all the demographic details manually which will include name, gender, date of birth and select the demo authentication. After this, a green tick will be shown on the screen.

Once the vaccination is administered a QR code certificate will also be sent to the beneficiaries registered mobile number.

Eligibility

The health facility will contact the eligible beneficiaries on their registered mobile number linked with the Aadhar number and will tell them the schedule time and place for the vaccination at the health facility.

The Union Health Ministry has prepared a plan for the Corona vaccination in India. The COVID-19 vaccine dry run has already begun across different states of the country. After these people who are above the age of 50 years will get the vaccination which will be followed by people younger than 50 years of age with associated comorbidities. The ministry also said that the remaining population of the country will get the vaccine according to the availability of vaccine.

Every Vaccination session will be managed by a 5 membered team with defined responsibilities:

  • Vaccination Officer-1: In-charge for pre-checking registration status of beneficiary and photo ID verification before entering the waiting room/area
  • Vaccination Officer-2: In-charge of authenticating/ verify document in the Co-WIN system (Health / ICDS / other government departments e.g. election model)
  • Vaccination Officer: In-charge of vaccinating the beneficiaries (Doctors (MBBS / BDS/AYUSH), Staff Nurse, Pharmacist, ANM, LHV)
  • Vaccination Officer-3 & 4: In-charge of authenticating/ verify document in the Co-WIN system (Health / ICDS / other government departments e.g. election model)
