About SBTU

State Board of Technical Education controls all the diploma Institutions of Kerala state. It handles diplomas related to engineering examination in drawing and painting certificate, examination of Textile technology, shorthand, and typewriting, Diploma for textbook and education, etc. There are various technical diploma courses offered by the State Board of Technical Education. It Conducts all the examinations related to a technical diploma. This education body was established in 1957 in which a director of textbook and examination was appointed as a Directorate of technical education.

In that time there are below 10 staff strength. Because of that, it is very difficult to handle all the diplomas in Engineering and other technical examination from the university and other bodies. Examinations were allowed to be conducted by the director of the textbook and examination on the behalf of Technical Education director.
